Not sure what is so technical about that. I have free long distance on my cell phone and about 1,000,000 roll over minutes. Why pay extra when I have it all in the palm of my hand. Am I missing something?
i think the buzz is that it's VOIP like Vonage but there is no high-speed connection involved, you just plug your land-line phone into one end and the other into the wall and VOILA. It might not be that cool, sometimes i'm easily impressed.
